Location-sharing apps receive warnings to comply with Google's data policy

Google has strongly advised app developers to let users know which information they share with Huq, a British firm that sells location data. If applications do not comply to this data policy, they risk being banned from Google's Play Store. So far, this was the case for two applications. Third-party data sharing is high on the agenda for regulators and policy-makers and has come under increased scrutiny around the globe.
