European Data Spaces to receive more public funding


“Data sovereignty is a key capability in the era of digital transformation“, said Anja Karliczek at the last IDSA Summit.

Karliczek is the German Federal Minister of Education and Research. In her speech, she stressed the importance of establishing technical, operational, and legal standards that foster trust and security between all actors in the data economy. Secure and trustworthy cross-organisational data sharing will become increasingly important and European data spaces will be important facilitators for this exchange. To promote the establishment of these data spaces, Anja Karliczek and Mathieu Weill, Head of Digital Department of the French Ministry of Economy, promised to advocate more public funding.
