Next to the benefits and security that the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has brought, stakeholders such as researchers in the scientific community, politicians and regulators have had to navigate through new rules and restriction on aspects such as data sharing. With the COVID-19 pandemic, additional guidelines have been introduced.
